Welcome to the Empowered Edupreneur Podcast. My name is Michelle Smit, and I'm an ex-teacher turned online business coach for Edupreneurs. The owner of Digiteach and a six-figure entrepreneur. I am in love with empowering educators just like you to create freedom filled online businesses and lives they love. If you are looking to uplevel your skills, your finances, your mindset, and change the trajectory of your life as an educator and business, then you are in the right place. Think of this podcast as your weekly dose of business and mindset development to help unlock the infinite potential within you. To play bigger with your life and go after your dreams. We are going to have so much fun together. So thank you so much for pushing play today. Now let's dive in. Hello, beautiful. So good to have you here as always. Today I've got a quick little episode for you, which is to help you get a bit of a cash injection in your business. If you have been looking at your Stripe account and just wishing for some cash money to come in, then this is definitely the episode for you. Because let's be honest, in business, if we don't have cash, we don't have much of a business. Obviously I am more focused on sustainable long-term strategies and I don't like panic actions in business. Where you just haphazardly do things without strategy because that just wastes energy and doesn't get you anywhere further than your goals. But I also believe that it's important to have the skillset to generate quick cash when you need it without spiralling into panic. Because that will happen in your business. You will have months where you don't make as much money as you normally do. And you've got bills to pay and you've got things to do. And so, having the skillset to be able to look at your assets and put out something that can generate money in a relatively fast space of time, is very valuable. So that's what I'm diving into today with you. Now, the first thing I want to share with you is if you are in the situation, then it's really important to ground yourself first, because if you are operating from a very panicked, anxious space, then you're likely not going to have the best ideas. You're not going to be the most creative you can be. You're probably going to do something out of a panic rather than something that's grounded and strategic and all of that. So really, if you are in a situation, you're feeling anxious about it, and I definitely invite you to take a pause, take a breath, and just remind yourself that it's all going to be okay, that you are safe. I always have this mantra of I am safe. It's really, really powerful because I think inherently if we do have cash months that are lower and things like that, like the first thing that gets threatened is your safety, and that's what causes you to disregulate, right? And so if you can just affirm that you are safe you're okay, you are resourced, you are creative, and you're more than capable of making money right now. Ground yourself into that space. Take a breath and then you can move on and think, okay, how can I make some cash money? Option one that you've got is selling something you already have. So the fastest way to make money is to sell something that already exists. If you have a product that exists it could be a course that you've created, a group program that you've done. Even bundle of templates and resources and things like that. Something that you have sold before, it has sold, people have bought it. The thing is built. You've got the assets built for it, like maybe the sales page, the checkout page, those kinds of things already there. Then that's the first point that I would ask you to look at. And I would say don't go and reinvent the wheel and create something new. You don't need to create a new thing. What I would say is go look at what you've already got and pick one offer and then create a limited time bonus or special, and you can do a email sequence over about five days to seven days, teasing this thing that's coming. And then you can do a sort of flash sale or promotion where you sell that offer for a specific period of time. Maybe with a specific added bonus, something to make it different and unique. And yeah, it's quite a simple thing. As long as most of the product is built, you've got the sales page, you've got the things that have been built. All you need to do is just tweak it a little bit and do flash sale to your email list. So that would be option number one. Then option number two. If your goal is quick cash, then I would definitely say opt for something that's more higher ticket than low ticket. Because if you want money, high ticket is the only thing that's going to bring you that. Low ticket isn't going to make you a lot of money unless you have a humongous audience. Then selling a $27 product is not going to really give you the cash injection you're looking for. What I would recommend is rather focusing on selling two to three spots in a $500 or a thousand dollars offer, or even one spot in a $2,000 offer. I'd rather you focus on selling less spots in something more higher ticket. Because that's going to probably work best with the audience size you have. Most people don't have a massive a hundred thousand lead email list. So if you want cash, then I would say go for selling less spots and a high ticket offer, and it'll give you a bit more breathing room, essentially. So this could look like a one-on-one intensive with you over a period of time. It could be a 30 day private coaching container with you in some shape or form. It could be a Voxer only month of support, or a Voxer only week one-on-one support with you. It could be a done for you type of service where you do something for them. And obviously this depends on the niche that you're in and what's possible within your niche. Obviously, if you're a language business owner, you can't necessarily do things for them. But if you have a different kind of audience or niche. For example, in my business, I can offer done for you kind of funnels and launch stuff and emails, and I have sold high ticket done for you services where we just do all the work for them and I just get my contractors and people to do it all for them. Just depends on your niche and stuff. But think, how can I increased value. How can I take away as many pains as possible for the people that I'm selling to? Obviously when you're selling more high ticket, it needs to be a higher touch experience, so there has to be a higher proximity or closer proximity to you, and the transformation needs to be bigger. You need to be getting them a result that is more urgent, faster, and probably bigger and juicier and more desirable. And think along the lines of that, how can you look at your audience and see what are the things that they are paying top dollar for what is the result they're asking for? And how can you position something to get them that result? And the fastest way to do it is to skip creating curriculum and just exchange your time. So normally I would always say you don't want to be trading all your time. But when you want fast cash and you want a quick cash injection and you want to put out an offer that is maybe a bit new, something that you haven't done before, then the only thing that you can do quickly is to exchange your time and your skills and go towards maybe intensive one-on-one or a done for you kind of service. And that's targeting the percent of people in your audience who crave deep support. And they're just probably waiting for the right invitation. Especially if you haven't been selling this type of offer before where there is high proximity to you. Then there will be people in your audience who would want that. And by you putting out an invitation into something, then you're going to potentially be inviting the right kind of people. And you'll hopefully make some good sales. So you only need a few yeses to bring in, one K, 2K, or 5K in a week with this kind of offer. And if you do it strategically, you build up hype with an email sequence and you put out a really good offer that is a bit like a no brainer for what they get. And you can send a simple message like I'm opening up three spots for a high touch intensive where I help you do X, Y, Z, so that you can walk away with a complete action plan. And my eyes on every piece. If you've been stuck doing X, Y, Z, and you want a faster path to get here, then this is the offer for you. And if you want, you can even skip creating a whole sales page because obviously that takes time. And you can go and create a pretty comprehensive checkout page that has the entire offer on it. And I would make it a good offer in the sense if it's going to be higher ticket, then it needs to be positioned well. It needs to have a program promise. You want to have bonuses you want to potentially do a fast action bonus for those who get the first spot. They can get something special. And obviously a bit of a deadline to that offer that it disappears. So that's an idea as well. Hopefully that has the cog wheels churning in your mind. And then the next thing you can do is sending a real honest email to your list and never underestimate the power of a personal email. I feel like we're moving towards the time where being human beings is like really our greatest currency because we've got AI and everything's becoming like AI generated. And so people are actually craving just the human and not this like preachy marketing-y email. People are just wanting to see the human behind the business and the brand. And that's what people are buying into is the person behind the thing. So that's why personal branding is so powerful now. So if you have an email list, even if it's a small one, then this is a good idea. You can write from the heart and you can position some sort of offering to them why it matters now, and how they can say yes and join it and if it's for them. And so you could do a special offer for a limited time only and you are authentic in how you present it. And you come across with real sincerity and authenticity. I think that can make quite a big difference as opposed to just trying to sound like you have it all figured out or, super marketing-y. I don't know, I get the sense that people are just moving away from that. And just being a human being, presenting an offer. And maybe the core reason why you want to help this person and the story behind it and pulling in some real storytelling that can resonate can be very, very effective. And then the next thing that I would definitely invite you to think about is going back to your past students, past clients, those kind of warm humans that you've worked with in the past. And this is one area that a lot of people skip. They are constantly in online business seeking out new clients, new students, new people into their funnels, into their launches, and selling to new people. And of course, you need to be selling to new people. But your past students and clients are the ones that actually trust you the most. They are the easiest people to sell to because if you've given them a good experience, then there are 10 x more likely to work with you again. So I really invite you to circle back to them. That should actually be your first point of call before going and acquiring a new customer or client somewhere. I would say you should do this first. If you want to cash injection. Present a high ticket proximity offer to your warmest people. And you can even go as far as reaching out personalized messages to the people that you think this offer is really suited for. And this isn't like a cold dming gross outreach kind of strategy. I'm talking about the people that you've really got a relationship with. They know who you are. There's no weird vibes with them and stuff, and just reaching out and saying, hey, I thought of you because I opened a spot in something that I really feel could be aligned with where you are at in whatever situation you're in. Just wanted to know if you'd like to know the details. And just keeping it personal. It's not a pushy thing. It's more like an invitation and saying, hey, I've had you on my mind. And I've created something that I think could be really powerful for where you're at. I'd love to share it with you if you'd like to hear about it or something like that. And honestly, if you've got relationships with these people and they know your values and they know that you're the real deal. They're not going to be bothered by it. You know what I mean? So say for example you have a massage therapist or something and you have them on your WhatsApp. And you go to them and you've gone to them for years to give you these treatments, say you have migraines and they help with your migraines. And she goes and messages you on WhatsApp and says, hey, I've actually just found a new healing modality to help with migraines. It's been really effective for myself. And I thought of you and maybe this could help you. Would you like to hear about it? It's kind of like that. And you would be like, yes, that would be amazing. Thank you for keeping me in mind. And so think of it from that angle. Don't think of it from a gross, salesy cold outreach kind of thing. Because then you're not going to do it. It feels weird. It's how you present the thing, how you speak to people, and also just reframing it. If it was someone who didn't know you, that would be weird. But this is someone who's worked with you knows you well. And you'd be surprised how many people are really ready for another offer and they're ready for another thing and they just need an invitation. And so it's our job just to put out invitations. Because otherwise, how are people going to know unless we tell them? So this is what I want you to know. Needing a cash injection does not mean anything bad about your business. It's actually a very normal thing. Business is business. You're going to have months that are going to be really, really good. You're going to have months that aren't good at all. And that's just the nature of being a business owner and riding that wave. But being grounded, calm, and in your power is really important. So not letting it completely dysregulate yourself and lead you to doing really irrational things that are gross, icky things that don't feel good to you and they make you feel uncomfortable. Sales things that are just not a vibe or just doing things haphazardly and spending energy on things that don't make much of a difference anyway. Because you're not thinking creatively. So ground yourself, come back to your power. And then look at what I presented you now on this podcast. All the different things. Look at what feels the best option for you given the assets you have, the resources, you have, the audience, the email list, the past students. Put all of that together and look at which offer can you put out quickly. With the least amount of energy, the least amount of time. That you know will sell or that people would be interested in. And just create an awesome little promotion around it and build up some hype with some emails, and then create a limited time offer basically. So there is real urgency, either the bonuses are changing or something's happening, the price is going up. Or it could be something you've never even done before, like a one-on-one intensive that they wouldn't be able to get later, right? So pick one idea based on what I shared with you. Just pick one, don't pick multiple. You can do the next one, the next month, but one idea for that month, and go all in on it and focus on selling that one thing for that month. And trust yourself. Follow your intuition. You know, more than you think. Don't doubt yourself. Because I think that's also one of the biggest things that limit us, is our own self doubt. Alright, so I hope that was valuable. Told you it was a quick episode. And I hope it makes you a little bit of cash money.
