So excited to chat with you today. So today's episode is about something I'm so passionate about. And it's about your energy and how important your energy is in building a business and life that you love. That is actually a line that lights up your soul. So today we're not talking about strategy. We are talking about energy. We're talking about you and how you feel inside the business you are building. Because if you are anything like me, you have had seasons where the work was technically working, the launch is making sales. The thing is working like it's working, but your body is screaming, so you're getting results, you're making money, you're getting weak recognition, and you're thinking, oh, this should feel good. But it actually felt like you were swimming upstream every single day to get those results and going against your naturals body rhythm and just not aligning with the things that actually make you happy. And I have learned that no matter how strong your strategy is. If your energy is out of alignment, if your body is quietly suffocating under the weight of what you are creating, then it will eventually collapse. It is not sustainable, and that misalignment will grow bigger and bigger until it becomes, it starts as a whisper and it becomes a scream that you cannot ignore. And so today I want to introduce you to a really. Simple practice that is just, so simple in theory, but it's powerful and it helps you reconnect back to your body, your energy and what lights you up. Because if you have been following my journey, you know that I have been going through a crazy. Evolution in my identity and in my business, and it's been so discombobulating. I love that word, discombobulating, and it's been just throwing me into such a spiral and I have been. Unable to reconnect as strongly to my intuition because I've just been so confused and there's been so much noise in my head, and I've been unable to reconnect to my intuition as strongly as I normally am. And I've been struggling to figure out where my energy is flowing because I've just been so confused. But I recently started doing this practice, which I'm going to share with you now, which basically just helps you connect back to your body and where your energy's going. Which for me is very much what your intuition is telling you. I always look at energy as this golden thread, and if we can follow our energy, if we can follow our excitement, that is the golden thread to us living a very aligned life. That is our intuition speaking, right? And that's what I'm going to talk about today. It's called energy mapping. Simple exercise that I'm going to talk about today, and it's exactly what it sounds like. It's basically just mapping where your energy is rising and where it's being drained. So let's just start with this. You are an energetic being. You are not just running a business with your brain. You're actually building it with your heart, your intuition, your nervous system. And your energy is always speaking to you, your body's always telling you something. There's so much wisdom in our bodies. It is our most divine internal compass, and it's whispering all the time. It's telling us things all the time. It's saying, this feels good. Stay here. This feels heavy. This isn't for you. It's speaking to us, right? But because of the noisy world we live in and the speed at which we live, we often don't slow down enough. And stop to actually listen. And we often override it with logic. We push through with pressure because we are just in this hustle society where you must just be going, going, going, God forbid you stop. And we often do things that we think we should be doing versus things that are actually in alignment with us. Especially in business. People will just do things because people told them to do it. You should start a membership because memberships are really great at scaling and this and this, and you're like, oh, wow, maybe I should do a membership. But actually when you think about a membership, your body recoils. That was my reality actually. Low ticket memberships for me have always been like a complete ick. I'm not interested for now I'm open to that changing. I'm open to myself evolving. Maybe five years from now I'm going to be like, woo-hoo, low ticket memberships. But I can only honour what I'm feeling right now. And for years I've been told to do a low ticket membership and I just do not want to do it. I'm not interested. So that's like paying attention to your body's cues of what feels good to you, what's energizing you, what's draining you, and all of that. So energy mapping brings you back to the truth of your body and it creates an awareness. It's just an awareness exercise that helps you see, okay, where is my energy going and where is my energy being drained? So how do you do it? It's pretty simple. It's not like a major ritual. It's nothing, groundbreaking. But at the end of each day, you know how you would do like a gratitude practice. Like at the end of each day you're lying in bed and you're like, I'm grateful for this and this is this, and it's such a nice way to close off your day. So this is similar at the end of your day, it could just be when you're lying in bed or just before you go to bed. I do recommend writing it down, like you have to write it down. So have your journal. Or a pen and a paper somewhere where you can just keep writing this stuff down. And at the end of the day, you want to ask yourself these two questions. Number one, what gave me energy today? Number two, what drained my energy today? Write it down, let it be honest. Whatever comes through. Just think about all the activities and things you did that day and say if it was draining you or if it was energizing you. So what I normally do is I say what gave me energy today? And I list all the things that gave me energy and what drained me today. And I list all the things that drained me. So for example, maybe you did a sales call that actually lit you up and you're like, wow, I actually enjoy sales calls. And that's quite telling. Or maybe you were writing emails and. It was really fun and creative and you enjoyed it. You enjoyed sitting with music in your ears and just writing emails and telling your story and building out some awesome messaging. Maybe that energized you or maybe you had a coaching call and you were like bouncing off the walls afterwards and you felt so alive. For me, after most coaching calls I always feel like super energized. it always depends on the client as well, but a lot of the time I love coaching. And then maybe you're scrolling Instagram and you realize how bad that made you feel, like how disconnected or numb you felt by being on Instagram for so long and like doom scrolling Instagram and you just, there's no right or wrong answers. You're just. Taking inventory for what gave you energy and what took your energy away. It's all about noticing an awareness. It's not to fix anything. It's not to find some solution. It's just to pay attention, because what you're doing by doing this is just reconnecting with your body's wisdom. And with the things that feel natural, easeful and energizing, and also with the things that literally drain your life force energy. And so what I want you to do is I want you to do this for a couple of weeks. Do it for a month. If you can commit to doing it for a month. If you can't just do two weeks, even after two weeks, you'll start to see patterns. If you look back at your journal and you look at all the things you write, and you can start circling in different colors, maybe blue can be the energy giving thing, and red can be the energy draining stuff. You can quickly highlight them and you can almost pull apart what has drained me repeatedly, and you see repeatedly the same things that draining you and you see repeatedly the same things are energizing you. And then you have these two different pages of energy. Giving and energy draining, and you just can clearly see what is giving you life force energy and what is taking that away. So clearly like it's written down in front of you and you will see maybe certain platforms that you are using in your business are actually negatively affecting you. Or certain offers that you are running in your business are like anchors, they're pulling you down. There may be old offers that you're no longer lit up by, but you're using, right? Or they're making you anxious or just feeling heavy. And then maybe you'll see where your light is, where your energy flows, where things are expansive, playful, alive. And you'll start to see the patterns of these things. And then you can clearly see what needs to shift, or you can clearly see your body's wisdom, your energy and your excitement is guiding you to like that intuitive, knowing that only you have that body's wisdom. It's like taking it out of your body and putting it on paper so you can actually just see it so you don't get out of your head and you stop questioning yourself and you just make it practical and you can just look at it and be like, oh wow. And it just confirms everything you've been thinking often, but still it's really valuable to just see it in front of you on paper because it gives strong evidence for what you're feeling and thinking is true. So you don't get in your head about it and question it. It's there like you've tracked it. This is the evidence, this is the data. You're literally using data which you cannot defy, right? And then when you have this data, I feel like it's more concrete sometimes, and you can be like, cool, let's make decisions based on this data so that I can optimize my life and my business for things that are energy giving and that I can minimize as much as possible as things that are energy draining. Now, I'm not saying that you can have a business and only do energy giving things. I wish it could be like that, but that's just not realistic because we all have to do taxes. We all have to do admin, we all have to do bookkeeping. We all have to do stupid things that we don't want to do. And you can hire people to do it. So that's option one, if you have the financial capacity and you've got an ability to hire, look at the things that are draining you and outsource them. That is the solution. Outsource the things that are draining you and take ownership and do more of the things that are energizing you. So I've done that. I've hired team members to do various things in my business. Tech is one of them, facebook advertising is another one of them. Lots of admin. I don't like admin, so I outsource that. And that's good. As long as you know what is draining you, you know what you can outsource and you can see, okay, what is your zone of genius? And what to infuse in your day. And when you have this evidence, you can start aligning again. So maybe you notice that the type of social media you're using feels absolutely terrible. So maybe you're on Instagram and you're like, this is. Toxic and then you decide, let's try Substack. Maybe Substack feels better. And that's something I've actually been navigating myself. Instagram feels very heavy. I'm trying Substack. I'm in the process of building out my substack and I'm just checking, gut checking how it feels to be on Substack, how it feels to use Substack, consume content on Substack, connect with people on Substack and create on Substack. I'm paying attention because creating and stuff on Instagram for me it's literally so painful at the moment. The resistance is so great, or it's podcasting. Like right now, I'm podcasting. I feel so good. Podcasting. You can hear it in my voice. I'm enjoying this experience. It's giving me energy afterwards. I feel energized when I podcast. I feel like I can go deeper and that is what I want. I don't want surface level. I want deep. And then you can make decisions. I'm not going to do this and I'm going to do that and I'm going to change this. Because if we don't do that and we just do what we're meant to do based on what everyone's telling us or what we used to do, just because it used to work doesn't mean it works now. So for me, Instagram's worked for years for me, I've loved it. And now it's not feeling good to me. It's deeply misaligned. And it's our job as business owners to reevaluate what we are building and consistently evolve our business to where we are at. So it stays in alignment because a business out of alignment is very, very, very unpleasant. It's literally like going against your soul. And it just won't survive a business that is deeply out of alignment. And so this is the thing, you can have the most flawless strategy in your business, but if your energy is being zapped, if you're doing things that are wrecking your nervous system, that has disconnected you from your mission and your purpose and your values, but it will not be sustainable. The money will be there for a bit and then it will disappear and you will sabotage and you'll burn out, or you'll plateau, or you'll want to run away and live in the mountains. So you don't want to start resenting the thing that you've built and if you don't make the changes and evolve your business, you will resent the thing that you built. So always come back to your energy. What is your energy telling you? Do this practice. What parts of your business is feeling like life? What far parts of your business is feeling like death? What parts of the work you're doing is giving you energy? What is training you? Because when you do that and you connect back to your body's wisdom. You're going to connect back to your intuition. It's going to be very clear as day what you need to do, and you're going to be able to make very aligned decisions from the only place you should. Your intuition. No business coach, no one can tell you what you should be doing, ultimately. In terms of the bigger questions, business coaches can put forward suggestions and say, you could do this, you could do this, you could do this. That's what I do when I coach. I give options, I give scenarios, I give different trajectories. And I'm like, this is the way, this is the way, this is the way. This is what I would recommend. If you wanted this, this is what I would recommend, this business model if you wanting this kind of life. But how does that feel in your body? If you think about that, how does that feel in your body? Does it give you an expansive feeling? Does it give you a contracted feeling? Never make decisions if it's a no in your body. Only make the decision if it's a yes, and it needs to be a yes for you to do it. That's my, that's how I build an aligned business. Okay. That's how I do it. That's how I help my clients do it. So just to sum it up, energy mapping. Ask yourself at the end of every day, what gave me energy today? What drain my energy today? Write it down. Notice the patterns, and let your body lead you. That's how you reconnect with your intuition. That's how you begin to trust yourself again, and that's how you build a business that stays in alignment that actually feels good to you. All right, so I'm going to be doing this now. I'm currently doing energy mapping now because I myself am going through this. Massive shift internally, and my business is going to have to evolve. It's a bit of a slow burn. Taking you on for the ride. But this is especially effective if you are going through a transitional period in your life. You can also use it in your personal life. Doesn't only have to be in your business. So go use this practice and let me know what you think. Send me a message via email or Instagram. Let me know how you found this episode.
